On June 12, 2021 we will be holding our 10th Anniversary of Women’s Pride in the Pines Event. It is our annual LGBTQ fundraiser event which draws hundreds of women & men from all over the United States, California, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Washington just to name a few.
The LGBTQ Focus Foundation is proud to announce that proceeds from the 2021 event will benefit the Ali Forney Center: Their mission is to protect LGBTQ youths from the harms of homelessness and empower them with the tools needed to live independently.
Since the Ali Forney Center launched with just six beds in a church basement, the organization has grown to become the largest agency dedicated to LGBTQ homeless youths in the country -assisting over 2,000 youths per year through a 24-hour Drop-In Center which provides over 70,000 meals annually, and 378,000 meals annually across all sites, medical and mental health services through an on-site clinic, and a scattered-site housing program. The Ali Forney Center is one of the very few LGBTQ organizations that has remained open throughout the entire pandemic providing desperately needed services to homeless LGBTQ youth who were not welcome at home, not even through the pandemic, because of their lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer identity.
